Very few Irkutsk buildings are used in the same way as they had been used before the 1917 revolution. Such continuity is typical of the building of central telegraph at the Square of Labor that has been occupied by a telegraph since 1903. In the early 1950s the building was expanded and reconstructed such that the whole building with a new main facade had acquired a unique completed view.
